Reasons To Travel Now

"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer" - Anonymous.

We all have that one Facebook friend who is constantly uploading travel photos of the serene sunset in Hawaii or the streets of New York, teeming with bright yellow cabs. You then fall into a reverie of your next holiday, with whoever it may be and then the jealousy kicks in. The rewards of travelling are countless and it is something you will never in a million years regret. So what are you waiting for?

Travelling enables you to discover a lot of new things about yourself. Many marvellous challenges and opportunities are presented whilst travelling, and you should always go for them. Your fears have the chance to be overcome, too. If you hadn't decided to face your fear of heights, then you wouldn't have been able to experience the picturesque scenery of the Great Wall of China. You have managed to conquer your fear and simultaneously participated in a sensational adventure.

To give yourself some 'you' time. A well-earned break to focus on yourself is crucial from time to time. Travelling is one of the many options you can go for to give yourself some breathing space, that is often lost in your hectic day to day life. You have the chance to release the stress and tension and just take pleasure in being where you are.

You learn several new things about the culture. Whether that be how to say 'airport' in Arabic or how to make a Malaysian meal, it is still something that you can take away from the experience. Telling your friend you can count to twenty one in Swahili, will certainly leave them impressed! Learning new things maintains your brain's activity, which is proven to increase your levels of happiness, particularly when you learn something you find pleasurable.

You make new friendships. When people are away from home, there seem to be less boundaries to cross and everything becomes a lot more simple, including meeting new people, whether it be the locals, intrigued to know more about you or fellow tourists. The people you meet will usually be the most treasured ones in your contacts book. Social interactions increase your cheerfulness and expand your social circle, giving you more choices of people to meet and hopefully learn something too.

For the delightful stories to tell. Who doesn't want to listen to a story about almost falling off a camel in Egypt? It will help you to preserve your fantastic memories and you'll be able to start a great conversation about your journeys around the world, and the inspiring people you met.

To grow. Travelling makes you grow as a person, whether it be in a new language or knowledge of the culture. Without a doubt, you won't be the same person when you return home. You'll be an enhanced, well-rounded you, who is willing to open their eyes to different things, without any hesitation.
