Habits To Quit Now

"Trying is evolving. Failing is gaining. Putting off is delaying. Quitting bad habits is winning. But to give up altogether is forever losing" - Anthony Liccione.
Bad habits have the potential to disrupt your everyday lives and prevent you from reaching your goals. They waste your time and energy. This being said, why do we still do them? And is there any way to suppress them? It is actually impossible to completely eradicate bad habits. Instead, they should be replaced with a new, improved habit that provides a similar benefit and improve your overall quality of life.

Non-stop snacking. Healthy snacking is fantastic, keep at it! However, the junk food snacking that we're all guilty of? That's not so fantastic. Doing this floods our bodies with damaging foods, that will not reward us. To cure this terrible tendency, you should eat for the right reason, as opposed to being bored or distressed. Replace your chocolate bars, biscuits and sweets with fruit, vegetables and nuts. This way, you're still able to snack, but in a way that is much more favourable to your body and will benefit you more in the long run.
Skipping breakfast. Those of you who are a connoisseur at this... I'm afraid you'll have to stop. Munching on a piece of buttered toast, or diving into a bowl of cereal signals to your metabolism that it's time to get the day started. Skipping the morning fuel makes your metabolism low, which can lead to extreme lethargy. If you find yourself not hungry the moment you wake up, then experiment eating at different times - work with your body. Or if you find yourself ignoring the meal because you're persistently running late, prepare breakfast the night before! The point is, never skip it.
Nail biting. First and foremost, biting your nails is incredibly unsanitary. Who knows where your hands have been throughout the day?! In addition, nail biting can lead to malocclusion of the front teeth, which is then a tough and excruciatingly painful job to repair. You should understand what triggers you to bite your nails, and then you are able to substitute it with a positive habit. For example, if you tend to bite your nails when you are in stressful conditions, go for a walk the next time you feel stressed. It should help!
Hanging out with people who don't appreciate you. Have you ever been in the situation where you are around those kind of people, just because you feel obliged to? It goes without saying, it's a benevolent action to give without expecting anything in return. However, you need to draw a line at people who treat you as if you are worthless. Remove yourself when you find yourself around these people, and find some others who accept you and treat you the way you would like and deserve to be treated.
Being late. Another habit I'm sure we have all encountered in our lives. You end up bolting from point A to point B, putting yourself under a lot of pressure. And then you have to apologise to the person/s that were awaiting you, filling you with slight embarrassment. To avoid this problem, instead of trying to be punctual, be around fifteen minutes early. By doing this, you will not be late if anything has caught you up, and then you can loosen up in the time you have to wait. It's a win win!
Complaining too much. People often moan when their iPhone 6S has frozen for a split second, or when they envy the Michael Kors tote bag that you saw a girl holding earlier on.. In the long run, these things are so insignificant to our lives. The fact that you are not in possession of the latest gadgets or fashion will not be your first thought when you think back twenty years, twenty years from now. Naturally, we frequently tend to think about what is missing from our lives. Alternatively, we should be grateful for what we currently own and proceed in our lives.
